Happy Little Corner
By Jamie Statema
This is a song written by Jamie Statema, of Go Fish. It was one of Hayley's favorites. She sang all around the house, she even had her own version of it: "Every day I leave behind a piece of meat, that I may never find again." I find it amazing that she sang this song, the last week of her life. Its reminder to us all that life is short, treasure those memories.

You’re with me, I’m still not sure how
All I know is that I’m here with you now
Everyday, is a treasure I know
So, I’ll hold on to you ‘til I have to let you go
Everyday I leave behind
A piece of me that I may never find again
So today I’ll give you the best of me
‘Cuz you never know when we might see the end of our time together
Every minute with you means more to me
Than all of the gold I’ll ever see
And our memories will forever and always be
In a happy, little corner of my heart
Days go by way too fast
What’s perfect one minute is quickly the past
What will come, we just don’t know
So I’ll hold on to you ‘til I have to let you go
Chances are there will come a day
When life won’t always be this way
And I don’t want to look back and regret
All the things I didn’t say
Everyday I leave behind
A piece of me that I may never find again
So today I’ll give you the best of me
‘Cuz you never know when we might see the end of our time together
Every minute with you means more to me
Than all of the gold I’ll ever see
And our memories will forever and always be
In a happy, little corner of my heart

My First Christmas With Jesus

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below,
with tiny lights, like heaven's stars, reflecting in the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear,
for I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear, but
the sound of music cannot compare
with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
for it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me. I see the pain inside your heart,
But I am not so far away. We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me dear ones. You know I hold you dear
And be glad I'm spending Christmas, with Jesus Christ this year.
I send you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.
I send you each a memory, of my undying love.
After all Love is the gift, more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as The Father said to do,
for I cannot count the blessings or love He has for you.
So, have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear.
Remember, I'm spending Christmas, with Jesus Christ this year.
Love,
Hayley

Tell the Angels
By Amy McLaughlin
This poem was written by our neighbor, a few days before Hayley died. She said she didn't know why she was writing it, but after Hayley passed away she knew.

Oh Lord I was wondering
As this new day was dawning
If you could tell the angels
A new child is coming
She doesn't seem to like it
When we're a part
So could you rock her and hold her
Close to Your heart
When the soft wind blows
And gently touches my face
I'll know its her sweet kisses
Filled with love and grace
And for her, dear Lord
Please do the same
Let her feel our unending love
Each time we say her name
She is precious to us
And to us she'll always be
Our candle in the dark
Our shining light of beauty
Until we can get there
Let Peace be her guide
And could you tell the angels
It's okay for her to fly!
